Mr. Sankar Kumar

Mr. Sankar Kumar has extensive experience in the field of accounts, finance, and internal audit, particularly within the insurance sector in Bangladesh. For over 12 years, he has been working as the Head of Internal Audit at Karnaphuli Insurance PLC where he currently holds the position of Deputy Vice President.

Mr. Kumar holds an M.Com in Management from M.M. College, Jessore, under the National University. In addition, he has successfully passed the Chartered Accountants Professional Stage Knowledge Level (PS-KL) and completed a three-year Chartered Accountancy course from K. M. Hasan & Co. Chartered Accountants.

His role involves preparing financial statements as per IAS- 1, managing property, plant, and equipment accounting as per IAS-16, creating branch-wise income statements, and ensuring proper treatment of business transactions as per IFRS. He is also responsible for developing detailed work plans and methodologies for accounting and auditing services, verifying payment vouchers for TDS, VAT, and other deductions, and advising senior management on financial matters.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Kumar worked as an Executive in Internal Audit at Abdul Monem Ltd. His training includes a program on Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Control from DSE Training Academy.
