Mr. Nirmal Chandra Roy joined Karnaphuli Insurance PLC as the Additional Managing Director on January 1, 2025. He brings over 36 years of extensive experience in the non-life insurance industry, with a strong background in both life and non-life insurance businesses as well as reinsurance broking. Before joining Karnaphuli Insurance, Mr. Roy served as the Executive Director and Country Head of J.B. Boda & Company Pvt. Ltd., a leading reinsurance broking firm in India, where he gained ten years of valuable experience in reinsurance broking.
Mr. Roy began his insurance career in 1989 with Reliance Insurance Limited as an Assistant Officer. Over the years, he held various positions across different departments and continued with the company until August 2014. After leaving Reliance, he joined J.B. Boda & Company Pvt. Ltd. and remained there until November 30, 2024.
He holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Honors) and a Master of Sciences in Physics from Dhaka University, as well as an MBA in Insurance from UITS. Throughout his career, Mr. Roy has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and specialized training programs related to general insurance and beyond.
